Try a jug of South End
String Blend: if it doesn't cure what ails ya, it'll
sure take your mind off it awhile. Guaranteed 100%
homegrown, locally picked, no animals tested, completely
biodegraded. Old time fiddle music more potent than
grandpaw's patented snake oil remedy. |

The Band's Concert poster
for the 2006 Snow Goose Festival. The festival chose
some design with a goose or some kind of local fowl
on it, but the event was highly successful anyway in
its inauguration. You can lead a duck to water but
you can't make him honk. |
We're a traveling troupe
of troublesome troubadours dedicated to “Saving
South End Wildlife.” Throw a party, dance til the
cows come home, adopt an artist, marry a musician.
When the Wildlife ends, it’s just you and the
television. |

We're an old time fiddle
band of eleven stringpluckers bent on a mission to
drag the Puget Sound basin BACK to a time when
neighbors talked to neighbors and folks sat on the
back porch to share music, gossip, moonshine and
favorite recipes.
The South End String Band ---
as American as apple pie and a mom who dances til
dawn.

| The infamous concert shut down by the county.
Tyee Store owners were threatened with fines and
jail-time if the concert proceeded as advertised.
The Band, of course, took the position that freedom
of speech was more important than their freedom, but
cooler heads prevailed. |

The Band played three consecutive years for the
St. Pat's fundraiser at the Camano Senior Center.
When the finance committee realized free beer
consumption for the Band outweighed gross revenues,
we moved on to new benefit venues with less
sophisticated auditing procedures. |
Tucked away for years in the fog shrouded ravines of
Camano's blighted backwash, this back porch old time
fiddle band has been clearing a nettle path from the
South End to the suburban masses clamoring for
authentic, down home roots music. Their recipe of
homemade music and bootleg wit comes up a pickle shy
of a picnic, but they'll leave you wanting more. Try
a glass of South End String Blend: it'll cure what
ails ya.....

Nero may have fiddled while Rome burned, but the
South End String Band sets its own fires and fiddles
too…..!! In the dense ravines of the fabled South
End, the moral drought’s tinder-dry. The Band’s
incendiary old time music is like moonshine liquor
on a Weber barbecue grill. Bring the kids, bring
the marshmallows and hot dogs, bring a dang fire
extinguisher! Music to set your hair ablaze.
